FIT Launches Online Aviation Management BA Program

Posted on Wednesday 10th September 2014 | Academia M&S

Florida Institute of Technology is now offering an online Bachelor of Arts in Aviation Management degree and is accepting applications for this program that’s designed to provide an overall perspective on aviation safety, law, planning and operations.

The program, which begins October 27, includes a hands-on simulation course that tasks students with creating an airline business plan and running a simulated aviation business.

The university says this aviation management degree is the first in the industry, and opens the door to many career possibilities – such as airline manager, director of aviation, general manager of airport operations, general aviation manager, TSA manager, airport manager, freight and cargo manager, and airport security manager.

It also makes a bachelor’s degree in aviation management possible to those interested in non-flight aviation careers, no matter where they live at one of six universities designated a core partner in the Federal Aviation Administration’s Center of Excellence Partnership to Enhance General Aviation Safety, Accessibility and Sustainability, or PEGASAS, says Korhan Oyman, dean of the College of Aeronautics,. The 10-year partnership focuses on research projects focused on enhancing the future of general aviation through safety, accessibility and sustainability.
