Outstanding Innovative Product

Submission Guidelines

To qualify, submissions must:

  • Have been designed, and substantially produced by the submitting individual or organization team;
  • Have been implemented and the results evaluated within the last three years;
  • Include a description of the product not to exceed 500 words, that clearly states the purpose of the product;
  • Include whether the nomination is for a small or medium/large business;
  • Include quantitative and qualitative results of the evaluation as appropriate;
  • Include an assessment of the impact on the client's "way of doing business";
  • May include client testimonials;
  • Include a completed release statement;
  • Be received by the deadline.

Security and Confidentiality

Access to submissions will be on a "need to know basis", however submitters should be aware there is no facility to handle data from Official Use Only, and higher categories at the national, NATO and other levels, and draft their submissions accordingly. (All submissions will be destroyed within 1 month of the final awards).

Submitters should identify data that has "commercial sensitivity".

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated using two prime criteria: Impact on the client/industry, and demonstrated value to the client. Scoring metrics are included in the submissions form.

1. Impact: The impact on the clients (or industry's) "way of doing business" will be considered. Products that have demonstrated potential to replace existing technologies or are changing business processes will be weighted higher.

2. Value: Submissions exhibiting high value to the client will be weighted higher. Both quantitative and qualitative contributions are evaluated. Note that value can be expressed as client return on investment, and/or as a client's key performance metrics.

Making a Submission

Who may nominate for an award?

Anyone may nominate for this award.

All submissions must be made using the online form HERE.

The awards submission period runs from Tuesday 31st May 2022 until Friday 15th July 2022 (5pm US EDT/9pm UTC). No entries can be made before or after these dates. Evaluation will commence after entries close.

Please see below for more details about what information will be required in the online nomination form:

Product Overview: Give a product overview in this section. Clearly state the purpose of the product. Use no more than 500 words. You may include a link or supplementary information, but you should consider the overview as a standalone description.

Implementation and Evaluation: State when the product was implemented and the period during which the product has been evaluated. Implementation must be within the last three years i.e., not before January 1, 2019.

Impact: Is this product having a positive effect on the client(s) business processes? How is it affecting legacy products? Address those impacts here. Rating: 0 for little or no impact, to 5 being a very significant impact.

The Value Proposition

Quantitative Effects: Address the effects of the product using quantifiable metrics - and if possible, metrics that are meaningful to the client, such as time, numbers of resources, cost ROI, attrition, job performance, flying hours, etc. Rating: 0 being little effect, and 5 being significant.

Qualitative Effects: Identify any qualitative effects such as working conditions or quality of life. Rating: 0 being little effect, and 5 being significant effect supported by metrics.

Testimonials: You may include up to 2 testimonials from clients. Include their contact information. The presence of a relevant testimonial will be awarded 1 point.
