SIMAERO ASIA has purchased a new CAE 7000 Series full flight simulator that will add new training capabilities for operators of the Embraer E190 in the Asia Pacific region. This E190 FFS, which will be located at Temasek Polytechnic, is the only one in the Southeast Asia and India region.

"This is an important milestone in our strategy to serve a niche market in the Asia Pacific region, where the E190 is already present," said Alex Teoh of SIMAERO ASIA. "The E190 commercial aircraft and its E195 variant are currently operating in India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Australia, Taiwan, Japan and China. As the fleet grows in the region, so too will demand for pilot training. We look forward to offering airlines our solution for their training needs."

SIMAERO's E190 full flight simulator is expected to be operational from March 2017 and will be equipped with CAE Tropos-6000 visual system, LCoS projectors and electro-mechanical motion systems (EMM).

The simulator will be located at the Temasek Aviation Academy in Temasek Polytechnic, an institute of higher learning in Singapore. Through this collaboration, SIMAERO ASIA will join Temasek Polytechnic as a partner-in-education, where the simulator centre will play a role as a learning enterprise to enhance students' learning over a range of skills. As part of the programme, SIMAERO ASIA will provide structured internship opportunities on Simulation Centre Operations, simulator-related projects as well as student experiential learning.
