Performance Improvement

The purpose of this site is to give safety critical enterprises usable information to improve the training of their people with the goal of improving the performance of their business.

Lapses in safety for the communities we serve are costly and can destroy careers, brands and the businesses themselves as well as causing injury or the lives of employees and customers.

2023 marks the 40th year of the start of our corporate journey in this demanding and rewarding domain. At no time has the pace of change been as rapid. Technology, the regulatory environment and the working population has changed, and continues to change most recently even more rapidly due to the pandemic.

These changes potentially transform both the challenge and the opportunity for training professionals. Perhaps the biggest of these is to achieve better, faster training at lower cost.

On top of this the devices, and the training schemes in which they are used, become necessarily more complex and new training initiatives are written for experts by experts requiring knowledge and understanding that is both deep and narrow.

 Haldale’s purpose is four-fold;

  • To explain these complex technologies and curricula so that they can be employed by a real-world, global population that is not necessarily expert.
  • To connect the community of operators, regulators, technology and training providers.
  • To offer users and operators usable takeaways that help in day to day training tasks and
  • To provide a route to market for our tech and training provider clients.

It does this via written, virtual and live media with a goal of reaching all operators globally.

Individual : Team : Enterprise

Halldale operates in the B2B media and events space but considers itself a training and simulation company. Its focus is on providing information on best practices in training and simulation technologies and methodology to all safety critical enterprises, globally. It does so via live, and virtual events, print, digital and electronic formats for all devices and platforms at all times.

Since the launch of Military Simulation and Training (MS&T) Magazine 35 years ago, Halldale founder and publisher Andy Smith has focused on S&T as a primary business, it is now the sole focus of the Halldale Team.

CAT and MST MagazinesCAT and MST Magazines: 2020 marks the thirtieth year of Civil Aviation Training Magazine, itself an outgrowth of MS&T when a group of airlines and industry requested a magazine that could spread the growing, new airline training regimes to the world’s airlines.

Ten years ago Halldale launched a magazine (MedSim) focused on the use of modern training techniques and tools for healthcare improvement and in 2020 rolled that publication into a new title, Safety Critical Training (SCT) to address the wider, growing, high value industry training market.

Halldale has a worldwide network of content providers and subject matter experts with decades of S&T experience as operators of high value equipment or builders of devices and training systems.

Our team of experienced editors and content providers have been hands-on operators, users, designers, builders and sellers of simulation equipment before joining our industry-leading magazines, websites, newsletters and events. All have a sincere desire to improve training for their user communities.

In addition to our specialist magazines and websites, Halldale also produces highly focussed and impartial simulation and training conferences and trade shows in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

At each of our events training professionals and subject matter experts from industry and the airlines discuss and share best practice and the latest development in training, driving the evolution of aviation training leading to safer and more efficient operations.

Together our team has hundreds of years of experience and background in thefield of simulation and training.
