FlightSafety FFS enters service with Japan Air Self Defense Force

A new Boeing 777-300ER full flight simulator (FFS) built by FlightSafety International (FlightSafety) has entered service with the Japan Air Self Defense Force to train crew to operate their new VIP transport aircraft.

The FlightSafety FS1000 simulator is installed at the Chitose Air Base in Hokkaido, Japan. It features tightly integrated computer hardware and software across subsystems which allow for more accurate and higher fidelity simulation.

It also offers a new multi-function Instructor Operating Station designed to enhance the effectiveness of training by providing an intuitive interface, scalable graphics and large multi-touch displays.

Finally, the simulator is equipped with FlightSafety’s VITAL 1100 visual system and features a database of close to 100 airports to support the demanding mission requirements of this programme.

Elsewhere, FlightSafety recently appointed Keith Anderson as its new Director of Engineering for simulation products.
