Solaseed Air Japan to operate FTD.aero’s B738 FBT

FTD.aero delivered a B738 Fixed Base Trainer (FBT) FlightSimulator to Solaseed Air. The device was successfully installed at the airline'soffices at Tokyo Haneda Intl. Airport in early April.

The FBT is fully-enclosed and includes a realistic and fullyfunctional flight deck with tactile control panels and coupled flight controls,providing immersive training for pilots in a realistic airline environment. Itcan be used in ab-initio, pre-airline and pre-TR trainings; SOP, JOC and MCCcourses; cockpit familiarization; aircraft type transition courses; and airlineassessments.

Solaseed Air Instructor and Flight Training Deputy Manager Hirotsugu Takahashi explained:"We decided to introduce the B738FBT to improve our training quality. It will be a great replacement for the poster and flat panel trainers we were using previously. It is a massive change in our airline training.”

“The simulator will be implemented in Flight ManagementSystem Training (FMST), Procedure Training and Fixed Base Training, reducingtime and costs of FFS sessions,” said Takahashi.

The simulator is also field-upgradeable to meetcertification requirements to become a CAA-approved FSTD (EASA or FAA).
