Graham Walker appointed as Saab Marketing Executive

Saab Grintek Defence has appointed Graham Walker as their marketingexecutive for Naval and Maritime Systems in the Saab Sub-Saharan Africa CountryUnit.

Based in the company’s Cape Town office in Capricorn Park,South Africa, Walker will manage all naval and maritime client portfolios,overseeing stakeholder needs and maintaining relationships with Saab’s navaland maritime clients in the region.

Walker joined Saab in January 2019 after serving as a combatofficer in the South African Navy (SAN) for 23 years. He held variousappointments at sea and ashore including promotion to the rank of captain. Hisfinal appointment in the SAN was as the senior staff officer above water warfare,on the staff of director maritime warfare at the SAN headquarters. In this rolehe was responsible for the surface warfare, patrol and combat supportcapabilities from a policy and doctrine perspective as well as being appointedas the SAN technology manager.

He considers his time in the navy as a once in a lifetimeadventure that has moulded and shaped him into the individual he is today. Hisexperience provides a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the variouscustomers and markets he will engage with, as well as the processes required tooperate within the naval and maritime domain.
