Following the recent retirement of British Airways’ 747 fleet of aircraft, Air Atlanta Icelandic is going to be taking the controls of one of British Airways’ Boeing 747-400 full flight simulators, helping its pilots continue their training and recency. The simulator will remain at British Airways’ Global Learning Academy in London where its simulator engineering team will host, maintain and recertify it for both UK CAA and EASA qualification.
The simulator, which boasts a General Electric and Rolls Royce engine capability, will also be available for hire by other airlines that operate the Boeing 747 aircraft.
Baldvin Mar Hermannsson, CEO of Air Atlanta Icelandic said: “The Atlanta Flight Academy (ATO) will offer B747-400 type rating as well as with other training modules for both Air Atlanta Icelandic and 3rd party customers.“
