Frasca sees rising FTD/AATD demand from flight schools

Frasca International, Inc. is seeing an increasing demand for its general aviation aircraft Flight Training Devices (FTDs) and Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATDs) from flight training schools affiliated with colleges and universities.

“The continuous evolution of pilot training programs and regulations is driving demand for high fidelity simulators and flight training devices that realistically simulate the performance and flying characteristics of today’s training aircraft,” stated John Frasca, President of Frasca International. “We’re seeing strong simulator orders from collegiate flying schools as they transition to a new training aircraft model or upgrade their fleet from analogue to digital glass cockpits.”

The company’s Cessna 172 FTDs and AATDs were recently ordered by seven large collegiate flight training programs, including the United States Air Force Academy, Central Oregon Community College, Florida Memorial University, Louisiana Tech University College and Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in the US; Confederation College in Ontario, Canada; and the Korean Aerospace University based in Goyang, South Korea.

Frasca will continue to show its commitment to flight training schools by offering pilots the chance to ‘test fly’ its latest Cessna 172 Level 5 FTD – equipped with real Garmin G1000 avionics – at EAA AirVenture 2017 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin from 24-30 July. The FTD will be at Booth #56 in the EAA’s Aviation Gateway Park. Once again, Frasca has partnered with the Alpha Eta Rho (AHP) Aviation fraternity to provide certified flight instructors for the free simulator flights at Oshkosh. First time pilots will be given a free logbook (sponsored by Frasca and Sporty’s Academy, Inc.) to encourage ongoing flight training.
