Free app from EDM designs cabin crew Door Trainers

EDM has launched what it claims is the airline industry’s first app for designing cabin crew Door Trainers to make it easier for clients to specify what they require.

The ‘ Simulator Configurator’ app, which is free to download from EDM’s website, enables users to quickly and easily produce their own detailed 3D Door Trainer drawing for most Airbus and Boeing aircraft types.

Once they’ve selected their door type, airline cabin crew training professionals can select slide training equipment, over wing exit types, communications systems and the seat configuration to immediately produce the drawing and specification of the Door Trainer.

“We’ve produced this new app to enable airline cabin crew trainers to easily and quickly design the exact configuration of Door Trainer they need to effectively train their students,” explained Tony Bermingham, Managing Director of EDM. “It’s been specifically designed to be very simple and intuitive to use and we hope that professional trainers will find it useful when specifying the type of Door Trainer they require.”

No strangers to new technology, EDM also recently developed a virtual slide trainer to augment cabin crew training, which was unveiled at Halldale Media's 2017 APATS event.
