Peach Aviation Limited (Peach) has announced plans to begin offering in-house training to pilots right from their initial steps towards obtaining their licenses.

To date, Peach has hired pilots who have graduated from aviation universities or taken pilot courses at private universities and obtained the necessary licenses to fly as pilots at airlines, only providing in-house training so they can become official co-pilots.

The decision has been made in the face of a rapidly increasing demand for aviation in Asia and a looming pilot shortage. To ensure its own growth as the bridge between Japan and Asia, Peach believes it is important to nurture pilots under its own scheme.

The carrier will soon make a call for applications to become part of the first set of pilots to be trained in-house on its company website during the summer of 2018 and is planning to have successful applicants join the company as trainee pilots by the end of the 2019 financial year.
