BAA Training announced the launch of an MPL training programby signing a partnership agreement with Avion Express.

According to the agreement, Avion Express pilots are tostart MPL training this August and will be ready to operate as F/O in 18 monthsfrom then. The aim of the course is to train pilots to the level of proficiencynecessary to enable them to operate as co-pilots of a multi-engine multi-pilotturbine-powered air transport aeroplane under VFR and IFR and to obtain an MPLaccording to airlines procedures.

The MPL training program’s main focus is on competency-basedrather than task-based training, devoting 80 percent of the flight training toa multi-piston aircraft, including a full flight simulator into the trainingand integrating airline procedures from the very first training days. The MPLtraining program can prepare a high proficiency of pilots who are designed towork for the airline with less time and money expenses.

“In today’s aviationcontext we witness not only a great need of aviation personnel but moreimportantly a need to put a primary focus on the development of aviationprofessional competencies. Keeping up with the growing volume of air transportdoes not simply mean training a sufficient number of pilots, it means that wemust train pilots reaching the highest level of proficiency and safety,” commentsEgle Vaitkeviciute, BAA Training CEO.
