WAA Opens 2020 Scholarship Submissions

The Westchester Aviation Association (WAA) and the Academy of Aviation will award two aviation scholarships in 2020 for flight training in the amounts of $6,000 and $2,500. The scholarship amounts will be awarded as a credit to be used at the Academy of Aviation flight school located at Westchester County Airport, New York, and must be used within one year of receiving the awarded amount. In addition, The Westchester Aviation Association will offer a Professional Development Scholarship to enable qualified candidates to pursue business aviation leadership skills and further progress in their business aviation career.

The Professional Pilot Career Award in the amount of $6,000 isfor flight training for a licensed pilot working toward an advanced rating atthe Academy of Aviation at Westchester County Airport. The Introduction toFlight Award in the amount of $2,500 is for introductory ground school andflight training at the Academy of Aviation at Westchester County Airport. The ProfessionalAviation Development Award for $1,500 is for expenses related to continuingeducation, PDP courses, CAM training and testing, and business aviationconference registration.

The recipients of these scholarships will be announced at aWAA Sponsored event that will take place at the Westchester County Airport onTuesday June 9th, 2020. The recipient of each award will be required to attend.

The deadline for all submissions is April 15, 2020.
