Merlin Flight Simulation Group have just installed a major visual system upgrade to the MP521 engineering flight simulator at The College of Engineering, Swansea University.

Swansea are the first UK university to purchase the Genesis RTX Diamond Visionics graphics for use on their simulator, which will greatly enhance their teaching ad research capabilities.

Swansea University's simulation laboratory is situated in their brand new Bay Campus. Dr. Nick Croft, Portfolio Director for Aerospace Engineering at Swansea commented: "The Merlin MP521 flight simulator provides an accessible route for students to practice and understand aircraft design. The simulator supports lecture based learning by allowing the theory to be put in a form that students can see and feel. The GenesisRTX visual system has significantly improved the visual experience, making the simulated flight even more realistic. The system also provides a route that will allow increased environmental factors to be included within design exercises."
