Event Description
The conference will offer delegates the opportunity to explore the latest surgical innovations and research as well as cutting-edge Defence science and technology from a broad array of research disciplines and is designed to maximise opportunities for building connections and generating new ideas. It will be themed by challenge area, rather than by surgical subspecialty or scientific discipline. Confirmed attendance already includes, UK and international civilian, Regular and Reserve Force representatives, medical and non-medical, science, engineering, Command, Government and NHS management teams.
The demand for tickets is anticipated to be high and early registration is strongly encouraged.
Highly interactive for both delegates attending in person and those online it will not only explore current delivery of surgical care but areas of potential improvement looking to next-generation and generation-after-next solutions.
Themes will include prevention and protection from injuries that might normally result in a surgical intervention, detection of injury including sensory, innovative ways to support the surgical teams’ handling of cognitive load, deployed and global healthcare delivery, academic collaboration and how to support the surgical care needs of Defence specialist groups.
Other sessions will investigate innovative ways to support research delivered by early career surgeons, scientists, and allied teams, including the skills and self-awareness needed to maximise collaboration.
Day 1 will conclude with a fabulous dinner in the White Tower with special guest speakers and awards (separate registration required). Day 2 will end with a family programme of interactive STEM activities for all and afternoon tea.
CPD Accreditation requested.
