TRU Simulation + Training, a Textron Inc., signed an agreement with Boeing to design and manufacture the first Full Flight Simulator (FFS) training suite for Boeing's newest twin-aisle airplane, the 777X that is expected to enter service in 2020. The suites will be delivered to Boeing’s pro forma campuses – pro forma training is offered to customers as part of the airplane sale.

The multi-year agreement also establishes TRU Simulation + Training as Boeing's supplier for the full suite of 777X flight simulation training equipment. According to Boeing, the 777X builds on the 777 and 787 Dreamliner, and will become the largest twin-engine modern jet in the world.

The initial contract includes development, production and maintenance training for two flight training components: a Boeing 777X FFS and a high-fidelity, flat-panel classroom trainer. TRU Simulation + Training will also provide a simulator to assist with Boeing's engineering development of the 777X. Until the suites are operational in 2019, 777X customers can train current pilots in the 777 full-flight simulator and take a differences training course to transition to the 777X.

The new contract comes a little less than two years after Boeing selected TRU Simulation + Training manufacture simulator suites for Boeing’s 737 MAX, and Boeing currently has four full flight simulators on order.
