TRU Flight Training Iceland, a joint venture between TRU Flight Simulation and Icelandair, delivered a V9000 Commander™ Fire & Smoke Trainer built by Flame Aviation to Icelandic Air.

The V9000 Commander™ is the flagship model in Flame Aviation’s product range of fire & smoke trainers. It includes a cabin with a realistic aircraft footprint and interior and an auditorium to watch the training.

The joint venture says the fire trainer is equipped to train virtually all possible fire-on-board scenario’s including fires caused by lithium-ion batteries. The fire trainer was shipped from Flame Aviation’s manufacturing site close to Amsterdam and will be in operation this week. Gudni Ingolfsson, Director Crew Training with Icelandair says, “with this advanced fire and smoke trainer we are able to optimize the proficiency level of our flight and cabin crew when it comes to fire training”.
