CAE has extended the Japan Airlines (JAL) Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) First Officer Program for three additional years to a total of 10 years, effective until October 2023. Under the renewed agreement, 24 additional cadets will be selected to begin MPL training for the Japanese airline.

"At Japan Airlines we are committed to creating highly competent professional pilots and we have been impressed by the high quality training delivered through the first MPL program," said Shigeki Washio, vice president of Flight Training & Check Standards, Japan Airlines. "As such, we are pleased to extend the length of the program and train new cadets."

In 2013, Japan Airlines selected CAE as its partner of choice for a tailored MPL training program. Since launch, more than 100 cadets have been selected and are undergoing their training as First Officers for Japan Airlines. The first cadets completed the program in Phoenix in December 2015. The renewal of this contract brings the total cadets enrolled in this program to more than 240.
