From early next year, FlightSafety International will offer a new Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A series pilot familiarisation course in Brazil.

The one-day course designed for agricultural aircraft operators will provide pilots with information regarding normal and abnormal operations, operational procedures and recommendations to help ensure the engines perform at peak efficiency. It will include an in-depth overview of the engine’s major systems and its interface with the aircraft.

Tim Swail, VP Customer Programmes for Pratt & Whitney Canada, said, “In listening to our agricultural customers’ needs, we’ve recognised that in addition to providing high quality OEM maintenance training, it is equally important to optimise pilots’ understanding of engine operability and performance to enhance communication with the technicians maintaining the aircraft.”

“This new course will provide agricultural pilots who fly aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A series engines with the information and hands-on practical training needed to help operate and maintain the engines to the highest standards,” explained Steve Gross, SVP Commercial at FlightSafety International.

The two companies say additional locations will be added according to customer needs. FlightSafety has been the authorised training provider for Pratt & Whitney Canada since 2010 and has delivered over 15,000 courses regarding the company’s engines and auxiliary power units to customers from 126 countries.
