Indra’s Board of Directors has appointed Ignacio Mataix as Executive Director of the company, effective from 19 February.

In this new role, Mataix will be responsible for Indra’s T&D business, which comprises Defense and Security, Transport and Air Traffic Management. He will report directly to Indra’s Chairman and CEO, Fernando Abril-Martorell.

With the appointment of Mataix, Indra completes the implementation of a new management structure, which seeks to increase sales orientation and improve productivity to increase competitiveness and margins. Mataix began his career at ABN Amro Bank, of which he eventually became Managing Director in London. In 2000, he was appointed General Manager of Corporate Development of SENER. In 2004, he joined ITP (Industria de Turbo Propulsores) as group CEO.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Derecho y Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales from ICADE and a Master’s Degree as part of the CEO International Programme at IESE Business School.

Indra recently purchased a 35.07% stake in Global Training Aviation.
