BAA Training has established BAA Training Vietnam, which is to operate a training centre of four full flight simulators (FFSs) and become a full Ab Initio flight school by 2023 in response to the growing training needs of the region.

Construction of the training centre is already underway, with the first Airbus A320 FFS set to be deployed by the end of 2018. Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX FFSs are to be introduced in 2020, while the Ab Initio flight school will open in the next five years.

“The Vietnamese aviation market has been growing by an average of 8% per year and is expected to continue its growth in the next 20 years,” explained Egle Vaitkeviciute, BAA Training’s CEO. “By establishing BAA Training Vietnam, we aim to share an exceptional know-how built through years of experience of BAA Training operations as well as securing region with the transparent and high standard aviation training for both corporate and private clients.”

Last year, BAA Training announced the acquisition of four FFSs (three Airbus A320s and one Boeing 737NG), of which three will be located at BAA Training headquarters in Vilnius, Lithuania, by the end of 2018. It has also invested in the renewal of its current FFSs and assembled a new Airbus A320 door and slide trainer, marking an investment of approximately €32m in training equipment.
