The latest May 2025 traffic figures from the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) show the skies are bustling with continued growth in international passenger demand, fuelled by leisure and business travel across the region.

Even as air cargo markets see gains, a closer look reveals a landscape shaped by geopolitical tensions, persistent supply chain constraints, and the rising complexities of airspace closures are creating an "increasingly challenging operating environment" for Asia Pacific carriers, as noted by AAPA Director General Mr. Subhas Menon.

Yet, amidst these headwinds, the region’s airlines are demonstrating  resilience and adaptability. They are rerouting goods, front-loading shipments, and leveraging robust regional economies to continue their expansion. The question, then, becomes about sustainable growth and strategic adaptation in an ever-evolving world.

How can the industry continue to improve air connectivity and performance in the face of these challenges? What training innovations are needed to equip the workforce for this complex future? And how will the region's carriers not only adapt but thrive?

The answers lie at APATS 2025.
