Avion Group has appointed Erik Varwijk as the new CEO.Varwijk will focus on bringing global growth to the company.
Erik Varwijk brings many years of airline experience, havingworked as managing director and member of the Managing Board of KLM, member ofthe Air France KLM Group Executive Committee and EVP Commercial at VirginAtlantic. Erik Varwijk succeeds Bart Slager, who has decided to pursue hiscareer outside Avion Group.
Also, Barry Miedema has been appointed as advisor to theGroup. Barry Miedema is Captain on the Boeing 737 for KLM and has been the VicePresident Crew Training and HoT for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
