L3 Commercial Aviation to launch first US-based training center

L3 Commercial Aviation will launch a U.S.-based airlinetraining center near Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The centerin Arlington, Texas, will provide Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)training courses and dry leasing options for airline customers within theAmericas using L3’s RealitySeven Full Flight Simulators (FFSs).

The commercial pilot training center will be co-located withthe L3 Link Training & Simulation headquarters and training center. The trainingcenter is scheduled to open in October 2019 and will provide a progressivelearning environment, which will initially feature Airbus A320 and Boeing 737NGRealitySeven FFSs, together with classrooms, briefing rooms and supportingamenities.

The center will supplement L3’s existing U.S. pilot trainingfootprint, including the L3 Airline Academy in Sanford, Florida. The expandedportfolio and presence will allow L3 to offer tailored pilot trainingsolutions, from initial training through type rating, as well as recurrent andcommand upgrade. The center will be well placed to support airline customers inthe U.S., Canada and South America.
