Leading Edge Aviation is to award three bursaries to aspiring airline pilots. The awards are to be used towards the academy's full time, integrated training course, the Leading Edge Airline Pilot programme (LEAP).
The bursaries, worth £20,000, £10,000 and £5,000, will be given to three future pilots who have successfully passed the Leading Edge Skills Assessment and who begin their LEAP course between 1 September 2019 and 31 May 2020.
The LEAP course leads to a 'frozen' ATPL(A) and a BSc Degree. "We know that finance can be a barrier to a career as an airline pilot and so we want to help," said Andy McFarlane, CEO of Leading Edge Aviation. "These bursaries will help three aspiring pilots get one step closer to achieving their dream of flying professionally."
