The Air Education and Training Command Women’s Fly-In eventin the Dallas-Ft. Worth area Sept. 18-21 will bring rated officers and careerenlisted aviators together to network, mentor and inspire others to “Fly Like aGirl.”

As part of the Fly-In, Air Force women pilots and staticdisplay aircraft will be at the “Girls in Aviation Day” event Sept. 21 at theFrontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field. The fifth annual event, hosted by theNorth Texas Chapter of Women in Aviation International, is part of the nationaleffort to inspire the next generation of women aviators, with approximately2,000 girls aged 8-16 having the opportunity to connect with real-life rolemodels.

The Women’s Fly-In is the only U.S. Air Force event that bringstogether this large group of women aviators to foster mentorship and createnetworks to learn more about leadership and aviation.

Additionally on Sept. 21 and in conjunction with the Women’sFly-In, familiarization flights aboard United States Air Force aircraft will begiven to approximately 60-100 Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, ROTC andU.S. Air Force Academy cadets at Alliance Airfield in Ft. Worth. Aircraftinclude the C-17 Globemaster III, C-130 Hercules and KC-135 Stratotanker.

Both events are part of the Air Force’s efforts to inspire,engage, and connect to a diverse pool of potential aviators to the military.
