Ultimate High offers regulator programme

The Ultimate High UPRT Academy (UHUA) has begun offering a dedicated set of UPRT programmes to address the needs of National Aviation Authorities (NAAs) and Aviation Safety Inspectors.

Ultimate High, based at Goodwood Aerodrome, England, has recently delivered its first courses to two European NAAs.

New mandatory EASA requirements mean that regulatory authorities have to understand how the effective and safe implementation of on-aircraft and FSTD based UPRT should be delivered.

Although NAAs have for some time been aware of the challenge of Loss of Control in Flight (LOC-I), commercial aviation’s leading cause of commercial accidents and fatalities, they now face the challenge of regulation development, proper implementation guidance and effective assessment of UPRT providers.

EASA has released Regulations, Acceptable Means of Compliance and Guidance Material but NAAs will still need a detailed understanding of proven solutions from established providers. This is in order to effectively assess and guide ATOs as they implement the new UPRT training requirements.

The UHUA NAA UPRT programme gives delegates hands-on airborne and classroom based training. It allows them to understand best practice and focuses strongly on safety, developing resilience, understanding operational controls, avoiding negative training and negative transfer of skills. This helps students have the best possible chance of avoiding, identifying and recovering from Flight Upsets resulting from LOC-I.
