FlightSafety Offers EASA-Qualified Gulfstream G500 Training

FlightSafety now offers EASA-qualified initial and recurrent training for Gulfstream G500 aircraft operators at its Learning Center in Savannah, Georgia. FlightSafety also announces that Richard Hallows has been promoted to Assistant Manager of the Farnborough Learning Center.

In addition to two FlightSafety FS1000 full-motion simulators, the Gulfstream G500 type rating course includes the use of three new advanced Graphical Flight-deck simulators that have been qualified by EASA as Level 1 Flight Training Devices, and classrooms equipped with an interactive MATRIX cockpit. These new technology training devices feature a visual system, HUD/EVS and sidestick controller designed to enhance scenario-based training.

FlightSafety Promotes Richard Hallows

Richard Hallows, the new Assistant Manager of the Farnborough Learning Center, has joined FlightSafety in 2014 at the Farnborough Center as an instructor in the Sikorsky S-92 Helicopter training program. He was next promoted to project manager and then to program manager of Gulfstream G650 training offered at the Center. Hallows was instrumental in the introduction and subsequent growth of the program. He most recently served as assistant director of Standards. Hallows responsibilities in that role also included the development and delivery of Sikorsky S-92 NVG training at FlightSafety’s Learning Center in Stavanger, Norway, as well as providing support for the Pilatus PC-24 training program offered at the Paris Le Bourget Center.

Prior to joining FlightSafety, Hallows served for 12 years asa Commissioned Officer and a CH-47 Chinook pilot in the Royal Air Force,accruing over 2,500 hours. During this time he completed seven operationaltours in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, and spent four years as a qualifiedhelicopter instructor. He taught in the Operational Conversion Unit, and heldthe positions of squadron training officer and squadron standards officer,responsible for the professional development of pilots.

Hallows graduated from Durham University with an honorsdegree in Economics and French. He then earned his Queen’s Commission at RoyalAir Force College in Cranwell, London, as well as his Central Flying SchoolInstructor qualification.
