Readers of MTM/MEdSim magazine will remember the Surgicon Conferences in Gothenburg, Sweden, the first to focus on the simulation of surgery and its potential to improve training, assessment and performance three years ago.
The Surgicon Foundation has now signed a letter of intent with the Lulea UnIversity of Technology with regard to a research collaboration focused on Surgicon’s key topic of Surgical Quality.
Margareta Berg MD PhD, the Founder of Surgicon has also been appointed adjunct lecturer on Surgical Quality; the first time to our knowledge that this subject has received top level recognition at a leading university.
The intention is to conduct scientific research in the field and to further develop modern methods of validation of surgical skills.
