3D Systems releases new PAE module

Developed in collaboration with Prostatic ArteryEmbolization (PAE) pioneer, Francisco Carnevale, Associate Professor ofMedicine, University of Sao Paulo Medical School, Brazil, the new modulereleased by 3D Systems helps users gain PAE competence.

This module aims to enhance technical and procedural skillsfor the challenging PAE technique, which is used to treat benign prostatichyperplasia. The embolization is performed by injecting spherical andnon-spherical particles of various sizes.

The module will help users become proficient in prostaticartery embolization techniques (PerFecTED and standard), identify the prostaticartery and surrounding vessels in common and rare anatomical variants, learn toevaluate prostatic artery occlusion using fluoroscopy and Cone Beam ComputedTomography (CBCT), and more.

It features diversified anatomical variations based on realpatient data, standard and PErFecTED technique simulations, integratedcomplications, and real-time Cone Beam Computed Tomography.

Some of the educational aids include a 3D anatomical map, vascularanatomy labels, microcatheter positioning guidance, a prostate blockageindicator, radiation safety alerts and non-target embolization alerts.
