As part of a new “Taking You Home” campaign, Qatar Airways is adding 28 flights to Australia with approximately 48,000 seats from Doha to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.

On April 4, the Australian government said more than 2 million foreigners on temporary visas, including students, skilled workers, and visitors, should “go home” as soon as possible. Alan Tudge, acting immigration minister, said 203,000 tourists in Australia needed to “return to their home country as quickly as possible.”

Qatar chief executive Akbar Al Baker said, "We are thankful to the Australian government, airports and staff for their support in helping us to add additional flights to get people home, and in particular, to bring flights to Brisbane."

As of this week, Qatar will be the only airline flying from London to Australia. Between March 1-22, Qatar Airways flew 13,458 Australians back home.
