Edgybees has been awarded its largest contract yet by AFWERX, an innovation program within the U.S. Air Force. The contract will see Edgybees’ computer vision technology, in the form of its augmented reality (AR) software solution Argus, integrated with the U.S. Air Force’s systems to bolster situational awareness in complex operational scenarios.
Edgybees’ Argus solution provides commanders detailed insight into operational environments by augmenting live video footage with layers of precise, real-time, geospatial information. Edgybees’ solution is facilitating situational awareness, efficient planning and clear communication for teams on the ground and in the air.
Edgybees is one of 21 small businesses slated to receive four-year, fixed contracts with the combined worth of $550+ million through AFVentures’ Strategic Financing (STRATFI) program, including more than $100 million in Air Force funding, over $100 million in SBIR funds, and more than $350 million in private investment.
The contract follows a round of contracts awarded to Edgybees by AFWERX at the end of last year, including the Small Business Innovation Research Phase II contract, a competitive awards-based program that enables small businesses to explore their technological potential within the defense sector and beyond.
