The Republic of Singapore Air Force’s (RSAF) Advanced Jet Training Detachment, 150 Squadron, at Cazaux Air Base, France, in June, unveiled commemorative Singapore-France 60th anniversary logos on its M-346 Advanced Jet Trainer (AJT), along with those on French Air and Space Force Alpha Jets.

Highlighting the significance of the RSAF’s training detachment at Cazaux Air Base, Singapore’s Minister of State for Defence, Desmond Choo expressed appreciation to France for its strong and longstanding support since 1998.

The RSAF’s Super Skyhawk first flew in France in 1998. The RSAF transitioned to the M-346 AJTs in 2012. “In 27 years, we’ve flown over 31,000 hours and trained more than 330 fighter pilots and Weapon Systems Officers,” Choo stated.

The Cazaux Air Base is home to the RSAF’s 150 Squadron and is one of many such overseas training detachments that allow the air arm to overcome Singapore’s land and airspace constraints.
