Four educational games developed for Healthcare / Medical / Pharmaceutical / Nursing training have been cited for excellence in the 2022 International Serious Play Awards Program. The Serious Play Conference brings together professionals who are exploring the use of game-based learning, sharing their experience and working together to shape the future of training and education.

A Gold Medal went to Virtual Reality Medical Simulation with SimX, which provides medical simulation training using immersive environments. Delivered through wireless virtual reality headsets, The SimX simulations are used to train EMS professionals, physicians, nurses, other allied health professionals, and military personnel in a variety of military, medical, and emergency scenarios. SimX counts Elsevier publishing and the United States Air Force as partners in developing VR simulations.

Silver Medals went to Medical Assisting Clinical Suite (Professional) and Lift: Medical Student Peer Support and Resiliency Skills.

Medical Assisting Clinical Suite (Professional) is a virtual reality immersive learning experience intended for medical assisting students and working professionals seeking a skills refresher. The Medical Assisting Clinical Suite (Professional) is clinical training in an immersive health care setting that teaches users how to prepare for, setup, document, and perform 33 clinical skills procedures common to the several medical industry certification exams. The Medical Assisting Clinical Suite (Professional) was developed by inciteVR.

Lift: Medical Student Peer Support and Resiliency Skills is an immersive role-playing simulation designed to train future or current medical students. The program uses best-practice standards delivered with engaging narratives and attractive environments. Learners are provided decision-making opportunities, learn from simulated outcomes, and receive tailored feedback. Lift was developed by Clinical Tools, Inc.

A Bronze Medal went to Activate My Shield, which is a game-based app for IOS and Android systems designed to counter vaccine hesitancy. The app collects patient concerns and reasons for vaccine hesitancy and addresses them by using audio, animations, and video that communicate complex scientific concepts in easily understandable formats in the user's language of choice. Activate My Shield was developed by SolitonZ Games.
