CAE has awarded a contract to Aechelon Technology to provide Image Generators for two Multi Crew Simulator (MCS) Trainers and one Off-Line Development System/Virtual Simulator (OLDS/VS).

The MCS trains Naval Flight Officers (NFOs) to acquire military aviation skills in airways and radar navigation, weapons systems operations, sensor utilization and electronic warfare operations, communications effectiveness, situational awareness and in-flight decision-making. The MCS trainers can be configured to represent multiple types of aircraft (E-2, E-6, EP-3, P-3 and P-8 aircraft platforms) with multiple sensor configurations based on generic sensor characteristics. CAE is the program’s prime contractor responsible for delivering the devices to Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida.

Aechelon Technology will supply its pC-NOVA Nucleus Image Generators for the student stations that include EO/IR and correlated data for the radar. Aechelon Technology will also provide a high fidelity multi-spectral visual database, 3D moving models, and a variety of airfields.
