EVFLY, a company that manages and operates the new generation of electric aircraft eVTOL, also specialized in AAM (Advance Air Mobility) services, strengthened its relationship with Germany-based FAST at last month's Dubai AirShow 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The objective of this partnership is to work jointly on the AAM project and to develop a full concept for EVFLY’s pilot training. This concept includes flight simulators developed by FAST to provide the best training equipment for EVFLY customers.

EVFLY and FAST have agreed to work hand-in-hand to establish a framework for all future eVTOL pilot trainings and have finalized the terms of their agreement so that they are now ready for "take-off".

FAST will provide the training environment for a safe operation of EVFLY’s eVTOL aircraft. Beginning with remote pilot training for EVFLY’s cargo operation, EVFLY and FAST will extend the training to EVFLY’s passenger aircraft with FAST’s eVTOL Mixed Reality Full-Motion Flight Simulator.

EVFLY’s founder and CEO, Yannick Erbs said of the partnership: "With FAST and its teams' expertise in training environments and its innovative Mixed Reality flight simulator, we are certain to set a new standard for eVTOL pilot training. Starting with our cargo operations, this collaboration will soon extend to our passenger operations, ensuring safety and excellence in pilot skills. We are looking forward to many more milestones to come.”

Walter Drasl, CEO of FAST said: “From the beginning we have had very fruitful talks with EVFLY, with whom we share a common understanding, that very high flight safety standards are key to making eVTOL flight operations viable as a business and future transportation option for many users. In EVFLY we found a perfect partner to ensure that the best possible training concepts and operation procedures are implemented, and that Advanced Air Mobility with eVTOLS features perfect pilot training as a core component.”

With FAST’s eVTOL Mixed Reality Flight Simulator, training standards in EVFLY’s eVTOL pilot training will be raised to a new level, FAST believes. By incorporating a 6DOF Motion System and latest Mixed Reality technology, their eVTOL flight simulator provides a highly realistic training environment for more flight safety at lower costs. Eye-tracking and other features improve the training quality for future eVTOL pilots. A modular design allows for an easy change of hardware parts and software of this simulator to provide more flexibility.  The entities believe this new step in the partnership between EVFLY and FAST is undoubtedly a major step forward for the future of the eVTOL industry.
