Flame Aviation from the Netherlands has developed a laptop fire simulation to train cabin crew for the increasing risk of onboard fires caused by lithium-ion batteries used in personal electronic devices, such as laptop's, iPad's, smart phones etc.

The laptop simulation is now installed in all fire trainer models Flame Aviation builds. It is located on the table of the first seat row. Real fire can be activated as well as smoke and a glowing spot. To enable scenario-based training, the laptop can be removed after extinguishing the flames and cooling down the glowing spot. Then it can be removed by the crew, folded and submerged into the lavatory waste bin to complete the entire procedure.

Flame Aviation continues to innovate its cabin crew fire trainers to offer its customers a realistic fire training environment for preparing their cabin crew for any kind of onboard fire incident.
