L3 Commercial Aviation launched the Icelandair Cadet Pilot Program to help create the next generation of Icelandair pilots. L3 will deliver the Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) Program for approximately 60 pilots over three years, with training beginning in the last quarter of 2018.
Icelandair will underwrite the total cost for successful applicants, who will be eligible for L3’s Performance Protection, which also covers the cost of any additional training, if required, to meet the standards of the course. L3 says this financial assistance offers this training opportunity to a wider group of potential pilots and gives cadets peace of mind, enabling them to better focus on the training.
The program, which is open to Icelandic speakers, will be undertaken at L3’s Airline Academy – and applications to the program are open now.
