ATP Flight School has accepted delivery of 10 2019 Cessna 172 Skyhawks from Textron Aviation Inc. Each of the new aircraft are equipped with Garmin's latest generation of G1000 NXi glass-panel avionics.
Once integrated into ATP's fleet, these 10 Cessnas will be flown by students and instructors in the Airline Career Pilot Program as they train to become professional airline pilots. The Skyhawks join 60 other aircraft ATP has taken delivery of in the last 12 months, as airline demand for ATP trained pilots reach unprecedented levels. Last year alone, airlines hired over 640 ATP alumni. The Cessna 172 is utilized by ATP to deliver a stable pipeline of professionally-trained pilots to the airlines, with the majority of students reaching their first airline job in about two years.
With a 100-plane order announced just last year, ATP Flight School is scheduled to take delivery of new aircraft each month through the remainder of 2019.
