Join our passionate, interprofessional healthcare simulation community and world-leading experts at the 2019 SIM Expo! The 2019 SIM Expo will be held on October 21-22 in Montréal, Québec, Canada, at the Hôtel Bonaventure.
Who is the SIM Expo for?
Each year, the SIM Expo brings together healthcareleaders in university, college, hospital, emergency services, and communitycare sectors. Our participants are deans, administrators, educators,clinicians, SIM centre managers and directors, and researchers from all healthprofessions.
What makes SIM Expo special?
The SIM Expo prides itself on its strong culture ofnetworking, relationship building, and in uniting the simulation community. Itis a hybrid of an academic conference, peer and expert networking event, andindustry exhibition.
Year after year, participants comment on the atmosphere ofcollegiality and collaboration. The annual conference allows participants toconnect directly with peers, experts and future collaborators in healthcaresimulation.
SIM Expo continues to be the largest interprofessionaland multidisciplinary simulation conference in Canada and we are excited tobring it to Montréal for 2019!
Theme
Reflecting the cultural diversity of Montréal, this year’s theme is: Interculturalism: Identity and Safety in Simulation.
We will explore issues related to interculturalinteractions and cultural safety within simulations and using simulation as ameans to pursue these important goals. This also ties into concepts ofprofessional identity formation and psychological safety in simulation.
What can you expect?
Expo participants tell us that what they appreciate most are the opportunities to learn and to connect with others – so we planned the program to include as much learning and networking as possible! You can expect:
- 4 World-class keynote speakers: Jenny Rudolph, Nicole Harder, Patty Chabbert and Louise Moir.
- 14 Live demonstrations of innovative sim scenarios, curricula, tools, VR, AR and serious games.
- 20 Presentations of emerging research findings and best practices.
- 15 Practical, engaging workshops.
- 31 Posters summarizing research, innovations and impact.
- Structured networking and community of practice gatherings.
- Exhibits from leading simulation vendors.
