CAE USA comments on U.S. Army Initial Entry Rotary-Wing Instructor Support Services contract

CAE USA has been advised that the Initial Entry Rotary-Wing Instructor Support Services contract it won from the United States Army in late 2016 has been overturned in response to a protest filed by the incumbent contractor, AECOM.

CAE USA was to provide support services for U.S. Army helicopter flight training instructors under a contract with a potential value of $450 million. The support services -- classroom instruction, simulation and live flight training -- will be for the Amy's Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Rucker, Ala., which runs the Initial Entry Rotary-Wing training program, or IERW program, which also supports initial helicopter training for the U.S. Air Force.

CAE USA says it is disappointed with this decision, and following a debrief will determine next steps, which could include further protest. Because the contract award to CAE USA was protested immediately, CAE USA had not yet begun executing on this contract.
