MASS-introduces-Networked-Electronic-Warfare-Training-Simulator

MASS, a Cohort plc company, introduced its new software-based training solution NEWTS (Networked Electronic Warfare Training Simulator). The classroom-based simulator will let the 11th (Royal School of Signals) Signal Regiment deliver training to support the U.K. MOD’s (Ministry of Defence) Electronic Warfare (EW) capability.

NEWTS will provide a flexible, reliable and relevant training environment that lets instructional staff deliver EW training under realistic, physical, functional and environmental conditions, MASS says, with true-to-life scenarios. Students can use the software to plan the deployment of EW sensors with a set of tools, analyze signals generated by the target emitters and identify threats and targets for attack of exploitation.

The software features three main elements including an EW Mission Support Tool (EWMST), designed to aid in the planning of EW, COMINT and ELINT asset deployments; a Communications Exploitation Training Tool (COMETT) component that provides a software-based RF (radio frequency) environment; and a Signals of Interest (SOI) repository database that is designed to let users carry out a detailed analysis of signal traffic.
