In June 2025, U.S. Army units and the Jordanian Armed Forces completed an intensive training rotation at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) in Fort Johnson, Louisiana. This marked the first time a Jordanian Armed Forces company-sized element participated at a U.S. combat training center, building on years of coordination between U.S. Army Central (ARCENT), the 34th Infantry Division, the 3d Security Forces Assistance Brigade, and the Jordanian Armed Forces.
The JRTC rotation, designated 25-08, showcased the strength of the longstanding partnership and improved interoperability between U.S. and Jordanian maneuver formations. While ARCENT units have often taken part in exercises hosted in Jordan, this event represented a significant milestone by bringing Jordanian forces into the rigorous environment of a U.S.-based training center.
JRTC is one of the U.S. Army’s premier combat training centers, designed to improve unit readiness through realistic, challenging, joint, and combined arms training that simulates various conflict scenarios. It prepares brigade combat teams by emphasizing mission-essential tasks and ensuring soldiers are equipped for modern combat requirements.
This event reinforced the strategic relationship between the United States and Jordan, which is grounded in shared security interests and values. ARCENT continues to serve as the U.S. Army Service Component Command for U.S. Central Command, supporting and overseeing over 11,000 soldiers across 21 countries in the region while fostering key security partnerships.
