Before the end of fiscal year 2019, Pinnacle Solutions Inc. (Pinnacle) was awarded two new delivery orders under the Computer Based Instructional Design (CBID) II Contract owned by Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).

On Pinnacle’s ninth delivery order, it will develop virtualtraining for three aviation maintenance tasks in support of the Product Managerfor Special Operations Forces Training Systems (PdM STS) Aviation including ForwardSwiveling Servo-cylinder – Installation Procedure, Cooling Blower – InstallProcedure, and Hour Tension Check – Tail Rotor Cable – Preliminary Checks andAdjustment Of Equipment.

During this project, the team will be utilizing VXT Core (aPinnacle product) to develop the virtual maintenance training tasks and delivermaintenance training to its special operations aviation customers. The projectis scheduled to last 12 months and will result in 4.25 hours of Level 4Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI).

The tenth delivery order supports the Program ExecutiveOffice Combat Support and Combat Service Support (PEO CS&CSS) for whomPinnacle will develop Level 3 IMI for the Common Robotic System – Individual(CRS(I)), which is an unmanned robotic system ideal for clearing buildings,caves, and other restricted terrain where close-quarters combat is likely.CRS(I) identifies enemy positions, explosive hazards, and civilians without exposingthe military troops.

In support of this task, several members of the CBID II Teamtraveled to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, to learn how to operate CRS(I). Pinnacle’srole in supporting the military use of this newly introduced CSR(I) is in thedevelopment of web-based, CD/DVD standalone, and simulator-based instruction.For a total of 18 months, the contract schedule will have the CBID II Teamworking on creating 7.0 hours of web-based instruction, and 17.5 hours oftraining and scenarios in the form of an application developed in Unity, whichwill be loaded on to the of CRS(I) Handheld Controller – Operator Control Unit.

Pinnacle was awarded the CBID II Contract from the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) in May 2017. PEO STRI’s customers can order training services and products related to computer-based training using this contract vehicle through 2022.
