The U.S. Army Pacific has begun its 2025 Best Squad Competition at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, bringing together eight squads from commands across the Indo-Pacific region. Participants started with the Army Fitness Test and will face challenging events such as weapons qualification, a zodiac boat relay, a 12-mile ruck march, and urban terrain training.

Master Sgt. Dylan Maynard described the event as a demonstration of the Army’s commitment to building adaptable Soldiers with tactical skills and resilience.

“These squads embody the core of our Army strength, showcasing tactical excellence, physical and mental toughness, and pure determination and grit in every challenge they face,” he said.

The competition highlights the squad’s importance in modern combat and will be featured on U.S. Army Pacific’s social media and the DVIDS platform throughout the event.
