Norwegian visual systems company 3D perception (3DP) has been awarded a long-term frame agreement by Reiser Simulation and Training (REISER) to supply visual display systems for upcoming rotary-wing training devices.

Under the agreement, 3DP will supply its Lyra helicopter simulator dome display systems, along with programme management, installation, integration, documentation and long-term support. Customers will be able to choose configurations tailored to light and medium-twin helicopters, including the Airbus H125, H135, H145 and H175, and the Leonardo AW139.

Lyra is built on 3DP’s Northstar technology platform and Aurora instrumented screens, which allow camera-free automated alignment. The configurations include visual coverage through the chin window, giving the cues pilots need for hovering, low-level flight and confined-area landings.

For light helicopters (H125, H135 and H145), Lyra uses a compact three-channel dome display. Medium helicopters (AW139 and H175) get a wider five- or six-channel dome. Both are available with optional night vision goggle (NVG) capability. The systems are designed to comply with EASA CS-FSTD(H) standards for FTD Level 3 and FNPT Level II devices, and FAA Level 7 requirements under 14 CFR Part 60.

“This agreement reflects a shared commitment to providing reliable, high-fidelity training solutions for helicopter operators and training organizations,” said Knut Krogstad, CEO of 3D perception. “REISER has a strong reputation for delivering advanced helicopter simulation systems, and we are proud that 3D perception has been selected as a visual systems partner. Together, we aim to provide customers with realistic training environments that are straightforward to operate, easy to maintain, and capable of meeting demanding qualification requirements.”

“To deliver premier training systems to our customers, we rely on robust, high-performance technology that ensures operational readiness and long-term reliability,” said Michael Holz, COO at Reiser Simulation and Training. “3D perception’s Lyra display systems and automated alignment capabilities complement our flight training devices, enabling us to provide operators with precise visual fidelity and compliance across a versatile range of helicopter platforms.”
