Members of the NATO Modeling and Simulation Group (NMSG) and the Simulation Interoperability Standardization Organization (SISO) signed a technical cooperation agreement at I/ITSEC. The agreement extends NATO and SISO cooperation to develop distributed modeling and simulation standards.
“This agreement will allow host nations to work together more easily and reduce costs in developing simulations, said Michael O’Connor, chairman of the SISO Executive Committee and Trideum Corporation chief technologist.”
“This agreement is important for NATO because the agreement will increase interoperability between nations developing modeling and simulation technologies,” O’Connor continued. “And it’s a big deal for SISO, because having NATO’s stamp of approval is key.”
Signers on the agreement included: retired Maj. Gen. Phillippe Montocchio, deputy director of the NATO Collaborative Support Office; Ing Agatino Mursia, chair of the NATO Modeling and Simulation Group; Cmdr. Santiago Fernandez-Dapena, head of the NATO Modeling and Simulation Coordination Office; Michael O’Connor, chairman of the SISO Executive Committee and Trideum Corporation chief technologist; Dr. Katherine Morse, chair of the SISO Standards Activity Committee and principal professional staff at John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory; and Randy Saunders, chairman of the conference committee and John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory Staff Analyst.
