CAT-2022-Heli-Expo-ENTROL-H45-01

Entrol’s new H145 FTD (flight training device) Level 3 simulator is a response to the training community’s continuing quest to offload more training tasks from the aircraft or full-flight simulator into cost-effective yet high-fidelity training devices, according to Nacho Navacerrada, the company’s Sales Director.

Navacerrada said entrol (Madrid, Spain) can manufacture this simulator to conform to EASA FNPT (flight and navigation procedures trainer) II MCC (multi-crew cooperation) (FAA FTD Level 5) and EASA FTD Level 3 (FAA FTD Level 7) requirements.

“For FNPT II MCC, you can use it in the IR (instrument rating), MCC, ATPL (airline transport pilot license) plus H145 additional training. For FTD Level 3, you can also use it for type rating (around 50% of the course), IR checks and proficiency checks. The amount of proficiency checks depends on each operator's training syllabus.”

One of the device’s attributes is its compact footprint, a room of 6m (19.7ft) wide x 6m long x 4.2m high. Entrol is also developing new feature options for the FTD including night vision goggle capability and virtual reality hoist training.

The entrol H45 device features a replica of the Helionix integrated avionics. It also simulates the high-performance 4-axis autopilot, which increases safety and reduces pilot workload.

Entrol has sold two units – one in Japan and another in Italy. “We cannot disclose the customers right now. We will have another in our showroom by fourth quarter 2022,” he added.

Entrol now offers 24 different simulator models in its portfolio, helicopter and fixed-wing.

There are more than 1,500 Airbus H145 D3 units worldwide, with the versatile mission-focused helicopter used in HEMS, law enforcement missions and offshore wind park maintenance missions. The helicopter can perform in challenging environments, including the feat of being the first helicopter reaching the Aconcagua summit in the Argentine Andes, the highest mountain in the Southern and Western Hemispheres at 22,840 feet (6,961 meters) - by the four-bladed D2 version.
