The 264th Clearance Company's small robots, including the advanced Small Multipurpose Equipment Transport (S-MET) and Expeditionary Modular Autonomous Vehicle (EMAV), are set to undergo early ground vehicle tests in a training center rotation at Fort Johnson, Louisiana, reports Janes.

Major Scott Rayburn, operations officer for the 20th Engineer Brigade, highlighted these as the army's most advanced robotic capabilities. This initiative follows the 18th Airborne Corps' experiment at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, where robotic systems, overseen by Maj Rayburn, were used for breaching obstacles.

Rayburn advocates for the permanent assignment of ground vehicles to the formation, expressing the desire for soldiers to have access to these capabilities in every training event.
