The Indian Navy recently inducted its first Radar Simulator (RADSIM), which will be used in the training of Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCO) for Naval Aviation.

The inauguration of the first RADSIM took place in Goa in the presence of Rear Admiral Ajay Theophilus, Flag Officer Naval Aviation.

The new RADSIMs will be installed at a total of five naval bases and will be used for training of ATC controllers during their basic training phase.

The new RADSIMS are also in use with the Indian Air Force (IAF) and are being operationalized at several Air Force stations.

The RADSIM is an indigenous product developed by the IAF’s Software Development Institute (SDI), which is based in Bangalore.
